Split Card Technique - a no brainer!

I have seen so many samples of cards made using the Split Card Technique, so I thought I’d give it a go!

I say “no brained” in the title, because it really is...a NO BRAINER! It makes the idea of creating 2 cards super duper easy.  Plus, the options are endless.

I started with stamping the flower using Memento Blank Ink and then Versamark....with my Stamparatus, of course. Then, I heat embossed the flower with Stampin’ Clear Embossing Powder.
I was able to color the flower in (since the stamp is really just the outline of a flower) using different Stampin’ Blemds.

Once you cut your stamped card stock in half, you are left with two card fronts that can be used in any direction.

The measurements (in inches) for my project are:
CARD BASE: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 (score @ 4 1/4)
1ST CARD STOCK LAYER (coordination color): 5 1/4 x 4
CARD STOCK (for stamping): 5 x 8
Draw a light pencil line down the center at 4” and stamp over that line.

When done with stamping, cut paper at the 4” mark and voila....you have TWO card fronts!

Check my next blog post to see how I make two card fronts using die cuts.

Until the, stay bee-utiful!
